Wet in San Antonio

We finally got some rain after a long, hot dry, summer punctuated by a string of 100 degree days. It is a pleasure to see the grass in my yard so green again. The late summer tropical storms gets me thinking about home repair and improvments to prepare for the upcoming holiday season. I was just perusing the internet and came across this very insighful article on the Texas Attorney General's website about Home Remodeling and Repair. It's good reading for our customers. The article makes very important points about trustworthy contractors.

1. Make sure the contractor has a permanent physical address. Handyman Connection has a permanent physical address at 17595 Blanco Rd, Ste. 201, San Antonio, TX 78232

2. Get a written estimate with plenty of detail. Handyman Connection provides free written estimates on legally approved forms that break down the project in step by step.

3. The work to be done should be on a contract. The written estimate that Handyman Connection provides is also the contract that binds us to the customer. We want to make sure that everything is understood and written down so that you will be happy when we are done.

Busy Monday

A craftsman and his team are working on a repairing a playscape at a Methodist community complex. They are replacing all the support beams because they had rotted at the base. The replacements all have rot protection. I got to run to Home Depot to get lag bolts, washers and stain. I mostly stay out of the way because they are the professionals.

Here's a neat article on remodeling your bathroom. It's on a home improvement blog, but the blog has lots of stuff not related to home improvment.

My First Ever Blog!

Hello world! This is my first ever blog. I'm the owner of Handyman Connection in San Antonio, TX. I can't begin to tell you how personally rewarding it has been to help people out with their home improvement and repair needs in the Alamo City. I bought the franchise in June 2008 and have been having fun ever since. The business has been serving San Antonio since 2001. I'm also really thankful right now that the local economy has been consistently strong, and we are the shining light of the nation. We are truly blessed.
